Korea Trip part 1

Few months ago, around April 2005 I had the opportunity to represents Indonesia upon invitation from South Korea government in relation to the mobile telecommunication business exchange program. Beside Indonesia, there were other countries; Spain, Germany, Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Hongkong, Denmark, USA and few more. What interest me was not on the event itself, but on knowledge and experience exchanges between participants. Most of us were either service providers, network operators or developers that made the event a worthwhile trip. South Korea was a great host, not only we were given all the required tools from translator, booth and so forth but also the charms of its people. Being a host, they were also eager to show off their technology capabilities by claiming that they're catching up with Japan and USA; true... The innovations in mobile technology are surely there, however close copy of technology still reminiscent on some products. Funny things were not on the mobile techn

More mobility stuff to come?

Apology people, I haven't had the time to add new posting on this site, but I can assure you that I will in a week time. There are so many things to write and would be interesting to share my last experiences with all of you... So stick around.
What I like about mobility in Singapore is this; a Coke vending machine that uses SMS as its payment gateway. Problem is I hadn't seen any Singaporean using it - I meant buying Coca Cola from it.
In October 2004 we went to visit Singapore and Malaysia as part our regular business trip. This time however we were focusing in expanding our market beyond Indonesia and at the same time setup a Singaporean company to execute the marketing process.
Me in front of our Singapore's development partner; SL Interactive. The firm has been developing mobile entertainment applications for many years and collaborated with us to distribute their products in Indonesia. They have such a nice office, not so big and not too small either, just right.
Andy and Jack at Maxis, Malaysia. We discussed a lot at Maxis and focus our energy into presenting several key products to the telecommunication company: Mobile Classifieds, i-Capture and MoJo (Mobile Journal). All three are our popular carrier grade proprietary softwares used by many in Indonesia. Malaysia for us is an entry point into the international market specially with their 3G ready network.

The Jakarta Cellular Show 2004

Our little booth at Jakarta Cellular Show 2004 before opening day. We didn't have that much of a budget to set up the booth, therefore we asked our partners to contribute and they did more than just that; we were assisted, most of our computers, plasma display and everything elses were part of our partners assistance. We couldn't do the show if it weren't for them, many thanks go to them for their kindness: Metrodata, Nokia, HP, Sony and Panasonic.

Every now and then we participate in trade shows to show off our company capabilities or introducing a new product. Here we are at Nokia stand during Jakarta Cellular Show 2004 presenting our new mobile instant messaging application.
Rangga hard at work. He seems to be fond of computing and we only noticed this during the trade show. Rangga computing venture is getting stronger now.

Digital Cafe

Our company built this wireless system that actually manage the day to day operation of Cafe or Restaurant. The system is totally integrated and secured without the hassle of tangled wires anywhere. Put simply; cafe or restaurant proprietors would not require to provide printed menu to their customers and any changes in the kitchen would be notified to waitresses. Menu is changeable with CRM built, SMS alert, SMS broadcast, book keeping, inventory control and many more. ERP for the hospitality industry.
Another screen shot from Digital Cafe solution; the menu.
Here is an example of Wireless Digital Cafe in action at HP Smart World Expo 2004. As you can see the ordering and menu browsing is done wirelessly. Menu is provided as touchscreen monitor and when waitress is not present, customer may do their own ordering or have the waitress does it for them. Any fancy ordering sucha as "medium rare" or "well done" for sirloin steak can be done and the system will notifies kitchen upon these requests.
